Roma Is Homa
This post is dedicated to Jennie, who coined the above phrase a few months ago. :)
I've arrived in Rome today and, as luck would have it, I made 3 friends in the train from the airport to the main train station in Rome (among sweating profusely and running over various foreigners' feet with the current bane of my existence, aka my luggage...thank you Italy for not believing in air conditioning or decent ventiliation in general, by the way) and they had an extra reservation at the hostel they're staying at. So I took up the offer. It's called Gulliver's House and it's the first hostel I've ever stayed in (believe it or not) and it's awesome. Small, quaint, ornate, perfectly clean, nice managers, etc. So far all the people staying there are all either American or Canadian (the people I met on the train are the Canadians).
Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to Berlin for a few days to experience the electricity of the World Cup games on der Straße des 17 Juni. Pizza and drinks tonight with the new friends.
A presto!
(By the way, I´m a spaz and accidentally deleted this post a few minutes ago- apologies for those of you who had posted comments, as they were buried with it.)
