Roma Is Homa

This post is dedicated to Jennie, who coined the above phrase a few months ago. :)

I've arrived in Rome today and, as luck would have it, I made 3 friends in the train from the airport to the main train station in Rome (among sweating profusely and running over various foreigners' feet with the current bane of my existence, aka my luggage...thank you Italy for not believing in air conditioning or decent ventiliation in general, by the way) and they had an extra reservation at the hostel they're staying at. So I took up the offer. It's called Gulliver's House and it's the first hostel I've ever stayed in (believe it or not) and it's awesome. Small, quaint, ornate, perfectly clean, nice managers, etc. So far all the people staying there are all either American or Canadian (the people I met on the train are the Canadians).

Anyway, tomorrow I'm off to Berlin for a few days to experience the electricity of the World Cup games on der Straße des 17 Juni. Pizza and drinks tonight with the new friends.

A presto!

(By the way, I´m a spaz and accidentally deleted this post a few minutes ago- apologies for those of you who had posted comments, as they were buried with it.)

    Ciao Bella,

Sono Jessica and noi siamo in Italia anche. We arrived Thursday morning after a very long night on the plane but Nico miraculously slept 5 hours! Wish I could say the same for Daniele and I. However we all slept great last night and feel much better today! We are in Busto Arsizio outside Milano and are having fun. Nico has been acosted by all the agressives but seems to be enjoying the attention and also managing the heat better then us. Oh BTW DAMN lactose intolerance. I cant eat niente when all I want is caffe latte, formmaggio and gelato. Whats a girl to do? Well be watching the gemania game at one of dannys friends house and then back at casa mezzasalma (yes thats his last name ) to watch the azzuro and hopefully Nico can sleep amidst all the yelling. he did well last night so heres hoping. Well we miss you and hope you have a rgeat trip sounds awesome so far. Ill keep up with you at points. I do know how to use apostrophes but i cant find it on this blasted keyboard LOL
    ciao for now from Milano

    Jessica

How exciting!! We're all so happy for you here at FNA and......we're living vicariously, although you burst our bubble about Rome. Don't expect Berlin to be much cleaner with an extra million people running around. Are you going to drink warm beer?

I wish I could have been there with you in Berlin watching Germany beat Argentina. I can't even immagine the electricity!! I can't wait to read all about it in your blog and hopefully pictures. I am soooo glad that you are experiencing this. Pero` ti devo ricordare come di solito (after all that is what mothers are for) ti prego di stare attenta. Ti voglio tanto bene e sento la tua mancanza piu` di quanto lo pensi.

and now it's off to watch the Azzurri play. Hopefully it shouldn't be too difficult, but then you never know with our squadra, (che ci fa sempre soffrire!)

    I LOVE YOU, MOM
